This November, there are elections for local office in every community across our state. Elections are our chance to put labor-friendly candidates into office and pass ballot measures that will help public employees. Our strength is in our numbers: union members vote in higher numbers than the general public, and when public employees turn out to vote, we win. Here are three simple steps you can take to join the effort:

In Olympia, WPEA has endorsed a YES vote on Proposition 1, the Workers Bill of Rights.
2. The Washington State Labor Council has endorsed legislative candidates in nine legislative races and one statewide ballot measure: WSLC Endorsements.
Local unions across the state have interviewed and endorsed candidates in their own communities. Find your Central Labor Council’s endorsements:
- Cowlitz-Wahkiakum CLC
- MLK Labor (King County)
- Northwest Washington CLC
- Snohomish & Island County Labor Council
- Pierce County CLC
- Southwest Washington CLC
- Spokane Regional Labor Council

3. Make sure you vote by Tuesday, November 4 Ballots will go out by October 17. They must be postmarked by Tuesday, November 4, or in a drop box by 8pm.
4. (BONUS STEP) Talk to your fellow union members! Want to go the extra mile? Union members across the state are spreading the word about labor-supported candidates through the Labor/Neighbor program. You can phone bank from home, or stretch your legs and go doorbelling in key districts. Folks will be talking to other union members about labor-supported candidates in targeted races.
