Bargaining Heads to Mediation

We want to provide a brief update on contract bargaining. After approximately 15 sessions, management has indicated they are unwilling to move further in our direction on employee compensation. While we have made progress on several issues and reached tentative agreements on multiple articles, compensation remains a central concern.

Your bargaining team remains united and committed to holding the line on this issue. We know this may not be the update members were hoping for, but we strongly believe management must ensure wages reflect the level of service our members provide to the community.

Given the lack of movement, the parties will be jointly requesting the assistance of a mediator through the Public Employment Relations Commission.
