Have you ever felt nervous going into a meeting with HR? Have you felt that it could lead to discipline or losing your job, and you’re not sure why?

You have rights.

You have the right to Union Representation through your Shop Steward or Union Representative to represent you in a meeting with HR in which you reasonably believe that discipline or other adverse action could result.

Management is NOT obligated to inform you of your Weingarten Rights — that is something you must already be aware of before going into the meeting. If you clearly request union representation and management refuses, you may refuse to answer any questions.

To learn more about your representation rights, you can find It in your contract, found here: https://www.wpea.org/hdc.html
