Despite the vital work WPEA members do in higher education, our pay still lags behind other state employees doing similar work. Lawmakers had a chance to fix this in the 2025 budget—they chose not to. But the fight isn’t over.
Starting July 1st, we’re launching a letter-writing campaign urging legislators to fund a 2026 supplemental budget that finally brings parity to WPEA members. By taking action together on the same day, we’ll send a strong, united message.

“As a WPEA-represented employee in higher education, I urge you to support a 2026 supplemental budget that finally closes the pay gap. We deserve equal recognition, fair compensation, and a budget that reflects the value of our work. Will you commit to this?”
