We want to share a brief update on the status of contract negotiations. The team has seen receptiveness on some issues, while discussions on other items are ongoing. Here’s a brief summary of where we’re at.
Tentative Agreements Reached
The Union and the Library have reached tentative agreements (TAs) on several articles, which include topics such job classification, employee discipline and grievances. The tentative agreements reached so far represent progress in clarifying workplace expectations, due process protections, and feedback processes. As a reminder, tentative agreements are not final until the entire contract is settled and ratified by the membership.
Articles Still Open
Several significant articles remain unresolved and continue to be actively bargained. These open articles include many of the most impactful issues affecting wages, schedules, leave, safety, and how new technologies may be used in the workplace. Your bargaining team remains focused on securing strong, enforceable language that protects members and reflects your priorities.
What’s Next
Bargaining will continue on the remaining open articles. We meet with management next on February 12th. We will keep you updated as additional tentative agreements are reached or if there are developments that require member input or action. Thank you for your continued support and solidarity. Please reach out to anyone on your bargaining team with any questions or concerns.
In solidarity,
