Seattle Meetings

Hello Seattle!

We’ve heard some… rumors.

A wave of management departures, unclear or heavy interim expectations (including a lot of front counter work), rising frustration, burnout, and turnover that sounds high even for Seattle.

We also know some of these challenges aren’t new—but with so much change happening at once, it sounds like the office is experiencing a level of chaos and pressure well beyond the usual. We want you to know we see that, and we’re paying attention.

That’s why we’ll be around twice this month. We want to hear directly from you about what’s going on, what you’re dealing with, and how we can genuinely support you through all of this.

Member Meeting

Wednesday, January 14th • 12–1 p.m. Third floor conference room

Pizza and drinks provided

We’ll share updates on contract bargaining and get your feedback on what issues need attention and prioritizing right now.

Off-Site Union Luncheon

Friday, January 23rd • 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. (Come on your individual lunch schedule)

The Sound Hotel – Currant Bistro

This is another opportunity to talk with us openly about what isn’t working at DOR, what isn’t working with WPEA, or anything you might feel more comfortable sharing in a space not controlled by your Employer. We want to hear the full picture, in your words.

Location: The Sound Hotel2120 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121

I’ll plan to be there from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to accommodate different lunch schedules. This is strictly informal—just a chance to connect. Food will be ordered from the flatbreads, appetizers, and sides menu and is covered by the union.

If you can’t find us, text or call Shelley at 360-915-3959 .

You can access the menu here

(Note: the lunch menu is on page three, but the restaurant has assured me they can still prepare most of the shareables from the dinner menu at lunchtime.)
