URGENT: Ballot Issues Reported – Check Yours Now

Voting Ballot Issues

We are receiving reports of some issues with ballots.

WPEA chose to work with a third-party distributor to print and distribute the ballots. Unfortunately, this vendor was new to us, and the process did not go as smoothly as anticipated. Due to the challenges we faced, we have decided not to utilize this third-party vendor for future contract votes. Moving forward, we will take the necessary steps to ensure a more efficient and reliable process.

We want to make sure your vote is counted, so please take a moment to review the following common issues and how to fix them:

Missing Postage

Return envelopes were mistakenly sent without prepaid postage. What to do:

Missing Ballot Instructions

If instructions weren’t included, here’s how to vote: 1. Mark your selection clearly. 2. Place your ballot in the blank blue envelope and seal it. 3. Place the blue envelope in the return envelope and seal it. 4. Include your first and last name on the return address. 5. Add a stamp. 6. Mail or drop it off.

⚠️ Defaced or damaged ballots cannot be counted.

Mail Delays

USPS has advised that in-state mail is taking about 5 business days. What to do:

  • Mail your ballot by Thursday, March 27 to ensure it arrives by April 2.
  • After March 27, either:
  • Drop it off at WPEA Headquarters (140 Percival St NW, Olympia), Mon–Thurs, 8 AM–5 PM
  • Or email Julia@wpea.org to request help or a provisional ballot

Missing Secret Envelope

If your blue envelope is missing:

  • Use a blank envelope, or
  • Wrap your ballot in a blank sheet of paper before placing it in the return envelope.

✅ Still Need to Vote?

  • Drop-off location: WPEA Headquarters (140 Percival St NW, Olympia)
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM until Wednesday April 2nd

Need help, away from home, or worried about timing? Email Julia — we’ll walk you through it or issue a provisional ballot.

Every vote matters — please act now to ensure your voice is heard!

In solidarity,
WPEA
