Your Voice, Your Story, Our Power

Over the coming weeks, we’re launching a union-wide postcard campaign to get the legislature to fund our state employee contracts- and we’re inviting every member to join us in lifting our voices directly to the people elected to represent us. Lawmakers hear from lobbyists every day. But what moves them most? Real stories from the workers who keep Washington running.

That’s where you come in.

Each postcard is a moment of connection – a chance to share why our work matters, why strong public services matter, and why investing in the people who deliver those services is essential. Your perspective, your experience, your values: that’s the power behind this campaign.

And some of our units are already rolling up their sleeves in the most delicious way possible: introducing “Pies & Postcards.” Members gather, enjoy a slice together, and take a few minutes to write heartfelt messages to their legislators. It’s simple. It’s social. It’s solidarity – served warm (or with ice cream).

Whether your unit hosts a postcard party, a morning coffee writing circle, or a lunch-hour drop-in table, we invite you to join in. Every card written builds momentum. Every message makes us stronger. Every voice matters.

Let’s share our stories, shape the conversation, and show our elected leaders that public workers stand together — and we’re ready to be heard.
