What does a bargaining team member do?

Bargaining team members work alongside WPEA staff to bring member priorities forward, meet with management to negotiate terms, and help build strength and unity throughout the process. You don’t need previous experience — just a commitment to showing up and standing strong for your co-workers.

What to Expect:

  • Meetings will begin in late May and could continue through December, depending on how negotiations progress.
  • We will work with administration on developing bargaining dates that work for our team. Our goal will be to meet once per week for 2–4 hours.
  • You will be compensated for your time if bargaining occurs during your regular work schedule.

If we have more volunteers than needed, your stewards will use a consensus-based selection process with a focus on building a diverse team — considering factors like work classification, worksite location, and both new and long-term perspectives. Every voice is important to ensure we fight for a contract that works for everyone.

Let’s make our next contract stronger — together.

In solidarity,
FVRL Stewards
