Many valuable ideas and perspectives were left out of recent Budget Town Halls, where the college sought input on addressing financial challenges. Greater collaboration between the President’s Cabinet and the wider campus community is needed to strengthen our financial stability and rebuild trust. The hybrid format created inequities, as many classified staff could not attend in person and faced barriers asking questions online.

To ensure fair participation, we recommended assigning a moderator and a dedicated person to monitor chat and questions. Additionally, the recent communication about King County pay adjustments caused confusion and concern among employees. While views differ, we appreciate the VP of HR’s efforts to provide clearer follow-up information.
