At Bellevue College, leadership has reduced some departmental budgets by eliminating unfilled positions. This means the college is literally balancing its budget on the backs of classified workers.
If a co-worker’s position disappears, it is critical to notify the Union immediately .
We must ensure the college has followed the correct procedures, and we need to track who is picking up the work. Every lost position impacts workloads, job security, and the quality of services we provide. Help us protect our jobs by speaking up.
Lunch with A Steward
Bellevue members have a standing invitation to connect with Becky, one of the union stewards here at Bellevue.
Every Thursday from noon to 1 pm.
This is a relaxed brown-bag hour, so pack your lunch, pull up a chair, and bring any questions about your workplace, steward team, or upcoming actions. Whether you need help decoding contract language, want tips for reaching co-workers, or just wish to catch up, Becky is ready to talk through it.
Next Thursday, August 14, the meet-up will take place at the outdoor tables behind Building A. Look for the union placard on the table, settle in with your sandwich, and take advantage of one-on-one time to strengthen your knowledge and your network.
Regular drop-ins keep communication tight and make sure small issues get addressed before they grow.
Mark your calendar, share the invite with a colleague, and keep your questions coming, because Becky is there to help every week.
