Public Service, Not Lip Service
Join us on Wednesday, May 7, as we march in unity to deliver our signed letter to the Governor during the Public Service Recognition Celebration. You’re part of something powerful — a growing WPEA community standing shoulder to shoulder for fairness, dignity, and real recognition.
Here’s what you need to know:
Event Schedule
10:30 AM – Meet at Tivoli Fountain for sign-making and prep
11:00 AM – March to East Plaza Lawn for the letter delivery and protest
12:00 PM – Regroup at the Natural Resources Building Cafeteria for connection and reflection
Travel & Reimbursement
WPEA will reimburse mileage and per diem for members traveling to participate. ➡️ Fill out the Mileage Reimbursement Formand send it to julia@wpea.org .
How to Prepare
- Request time off from work now, if you haven’t already!
- Consider organizing a carpool with coworkers.
- Sign-making materials will be available at 10:30 AM, or bring your own!
- Wear comfortable shoes – there will be marching.
- Need a union shirt? Look for Julia at the event — limited sizes available!

This day is about celebrating you — and every worker who serves Washington. Our message is directed at OFM, who have delayed, stalled, and refused to bargain in good faith. We show up strong because we believe in public service — and we believe those who serve deserve better.
