MAY DAY PROTEST 2026
May 1 is International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day.
For the last 140 years, workers around the world have gathered on May Day to fight for our collective bargaining rights, the eight hour workday, anti-discrimination laws, workplace safety laws, and more.
If you are able to take time off work, here are two opportunities to participate in May Day this year:
- Indivisible Aberdeen is organizing a rally in Zelasko Park on
Friday, May 1 from 1 PM to 3 PM (flyer attached).
- The GHC Democrats student club is hosting a May Day sign making activity
in the tulalW (3000 Building) lobby on Thursday, April 30 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
If you have questions regarding taking leave, feel free to reach out to jared@wpea.org. WPEA supports this event and hopes to see you there.
