URGENT:

Show up for our Budget Town Hall

Bellevue College must cut $4.7 million. Management is dissolving programs and laying off our members. At least 9 members received layoff notices this week. Do not let the college fix its budget on our backs.

Town Hall to attend

  • Bellevue College Town Hall #2, BC Budget Overview
  • Wed, Oct 29, 3 to 4 PM, N201 or livestream
  • Check your work email for a message from the President’s office which should have the Zoom link.
  • Be a witness. Ask how students will be supported with fewer staff. Ask if administration will take cuts too. Ask why the college president, with very high pay, is floating removal of the King County premium that is bargained into our CBA. Make good trouble, respectfully.

Why it matters

  • Cuts target the people who keep the college running, not the top.
  • We are not the highest paid, yet we are being asked to carry the load.
  • Your presence changes the narrative, it shows solidarity, it creates pressure.

Additional Reminder to Attend:

Member meetings, Tuesday, Oct 28

We will cover the contract, steward roles, and what members can do now to protect jobs and our union’s strength.

Show up. Bring a coworker. Speak up for students, staff, and a fair solution.
